Rolling returns
How did a fund do if you had put money in on any day and held it for a set number of years? Every start date counts here, not just a lucky one.

About the Nifty 50 line. There is no free feed of the index itself, so "Nifty 50 (via UTI index fund)" uses the NAV of an index fund that tracks it. That fund trails the index a little because of its running costs.
How it works
- Choose a fund and how long you would hold it. Five years is the starting choice.
- For every day the fund has a price, we imagine a lump sum going in that day.
- We look up the fund's price on the exit day: the first day with a price on or after the date that many years later.
- The gain is turned into a yearly rate, so a 3 year and a 10 year result can sit side by side.
- Doing that for every start date gives a long list of results. The numbers and charts describe that list.
About these numbers
- Neighbouring start dates share almost all of their days, so the windows overlap. The count of windows is not the count of separate experiences.
- Past returns are not a forecast. A fund can behave differently next time.
- Exit loads, taxes and your own costs are not included.
- Nothing here is advice or a recommendation to buy or sell.
- The data is only as fresh as the date at the top of the page.
